Episcleritis and scleritis are both inflammatory disorders of the eye may have underlying systemic disorder precipitating them. Therefore a thorough clinical examination laboratory investigations needed to rule them out. Systemic conditions that been associated include rheumatoid arthritis, Wegener’s granulomatosis, vasculitis, lupus erythematosis, sarcoidosis, spondyloarthropathies, tuberculosis, gout, syphilis, hepatitis B many others. : To estimate prevalence in patients with episcleritis visiting ophthalmology OPD. identify potential requiring treatment. This study was conducted 105 who attended outpatient department tertiary care hospital over period one year four months. association disease noted 20% cases remaining 80% had no an illness. Tuberculosis major episcleritis. Rheumatoid Wegener bowel disease, ankylosing spondylitis herpes zoster were some other associations noted. Scleritis common encountered out patient department. Their frequent prompts us assess status such patients. Early diagnosis proper management has helped reduce ocular morbidity.
